Between the castle estate Pfäffikon and the island of Ufenau, both agricultural estates owned by Einsiedeln Abbey, lies a significant stretch of Lake Zurich. Every spring, seen here on 15th April 2016, tenant farmer Josef Häcki transports his cattle by barge, to graze them on the island. Come autumn, this method of animal transportation, unique within Switzerland, is repeated. The cows are completely unfazed during their ten minute voyage.
